Cookie Policy
Effective date: 20 April 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Safar Counselling (“I”, “me”, “my”) uses cookies and similar technologies on safarcounselling.co.uk. It should be read alongside myPrivacy Policy.
I comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). This means I only set non-essential cookies on your device after you have given your consent.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They help the website work properly, remember your preferences, and collect information about how the site is used.
I also use similar technologies such as tracking pixels and tags, and browser storage. For ease, I refer to all of them as “cookies” in this policy.
2. Types of cookies I use
Strictly necessary
This website sets no cookies of its own. Your cookie choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage so that the banner does not reappear on every page. That is required to honour your choice and does not need your consent.
Analytics cookies
I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use my website so I can improve it. These cookies collect information such as which pages you visit and how long you spend on them. The data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Google Analytics is only loaded once you have accepted analytics cookies.
3. How I ask for your consent
The first time you visit my website, a cookie banner will appear asking you to choose which cookies you allow. You can:
- Accept analytics cookies.
- Reject all non-essential cookies.
Non-essential cookies will not be set until you have given consent. You can change your preference at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.
4. Third-party cookies
Where you accept analytics, cookies are set by Google Analytics. Google has its own privacy and cookie policies, which I recommend you review. No other third party sets cookies on this website.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you manage cookies through their settings. You can usually block cookies, delete cookies, or set the browser to alert you when a cookie is being set. Blocking cookies may stop some parts of the website from working properly.
Guides for common browsers:
- Chrome: support.google.com/chrome
- Safari: support.apple.com/en-gb/safari
- Firefox: support.mozilla.org
- Edge: support.microsoft.com
6. Do Not Track signals
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for how websites should respond, and I do not currently respond to these signals. You can still manage your preferences through the cookie banner.
7. Changes to this Cookie Policy
I may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The latest version is always available on my website. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated.
